So you have your goals? That’s pretty cool. You know what you want to do with your life (and that’s actually more than what most people can tell about themselves). All you need is work and motivation to achieve those amazing things you’ve set your mind to.
But what should you do to stay on the road of success? How can you wake up every morning and be so excited about your goals to get to work straight away? How to stay motivated?
Let me present to you 12 ways to be, and stay motivated on your journey to success. Let’s jump into it, shall we?

1.Write down your goals precisely and keep them somewhere visible so you can look at it daily
I have goals for the whole year. I write them down in January (3 goals for each month) and I keep the list next to my desk. Whenever I turn my head away from what I am doing, I see my goals. Written down, waiting for me to achieve them.
It is also necessary for you to know exactly what you want. See your goals clearly. Don’t just search for some undefiniatable mess, because that’s confusing and makes it much harder to track your progress.
2.Track your progress
Good things take time, but we love to see results as soon as possible. One of the most demotivating things in the world is when you feel stuck. When you can’t see any progress from what you’ve put your time into.
If you want to lose weight, you can’t expect to be bulky one day, and have six packs on the other. It will take you time and effort to get there. But if you see how you improve while you are taking the road, it will give you so much power!
So make sure you track your progress somehow.
Take a picture of yourself. Write down how you feel when you start the journey and add to it as you keep going, then re-read the whole thing. This way you can see where you came from. It also proves that you are going forward.
3.Have a motto that fills you with power
Think about it as a mantra. Something you can remember easily and repeat it over and over and over again. It can be a quote, a question, a piece of lyrics or just a word. The point of it is to make you feel unstoppable. Let the words speak to you. Give them a deep meaning and use them as a weapon to fight against procrastination.

4.Set up reminders of motivation in your surroundings
Have a cool background on your phone. Hide notes for yourself in your house. Set reminders so that your phone pops them up randomly. Make sure you get a little impulse everywhere you go to remind yourself of your goals. Your environment has a huge impact on your life. Transform it into something that will help you along the way.
5.Hype each other up with one of your friends
Sharing our happiness is so empowering. Getting things off our chest is relieving. Talking about your goals and feelings with a friend can be a cure to a lot of problems. When you constantly hype and support each other you feel more powerful, because now there are two people who want to see you shine: your friend and yourself.
6.Follow people who inspire you on social media
Most people like to spend most of their time on social media, so why don’t you make sure you only follow quality content? Do you really need to see that funny meme and then take time to look through the comments or send it to one of your friends? Isn’t it harmful to follow people who make you feel bad about yourself? To watch one trend in hundreds of different ways?
The time you spend on these things is the time you take away from enjoying the future you’ve created.

7.Listen to music that boosts your energy
Music has this magical power which can make you feel all sorts of emotions. You can be happy, sad, energetic or even inspired. There are so many bands and songs out there where the main topic is success, motivation, energy, power. You just have to figure out which one has the most effect on you.

8.Visualize yourself in the future where you have reached your goal
We all like to daydream and it is true that you shouldn’t just think about your dreams all the time, because that can be toxic in many different ways. But if it serves you as a reminder and gives you power, why not?. You want to live those dreams, right? Then do it! Do it every night before bed, write it down, embrace it and know exactly all the elements of your dream which will turn into a goal.
9.Know what you want to achieve
You have to be specific. Otherwise how do you know whether you managed to “lose weight” or “be rich”? Where is the line where you can say you reached your goals?
Wandering in the dark won’t help you. It will just make you more confused.

10.Have a plan
Got your goals? Cool! Now make a plan. Usually things take time and work. You can’t only wait for your dreams to come true. You have to put in the work as well. So figure out all the steps you have to take.

11.Take it one day at a time
Wake up every morning and get the maximum out of your day. You have 24 hours to do whatever you can for your goals. Every hour you spend with something meaningless is gone forever. Of course you can’t work on 100% 24/7, that’s why you should take it one day at a time. So make sure by the time night comes you can say that you had a successful day. You did something for your dreams to come true.
12.Reward yourself
We humans are so impatient. We want something at the exact moment we start to work on it. A great cure for this problem is to reward yourself regularly. This can come in many different forms. Your job is (again) to figure out which suits you the best.
Here are some examples:
- Phone time
- Small gifts
- A nap
- Massage
- The next episode of the series you are watching
- Books

That’s it. These are my 12 tips to help you stay motivated. I would say the most important thing is to find what works for you the best. These are just clues to get you started. What other tips do you have? Maybe we can inspire and support each other.
Thank you for reading! I hope you found this post useful and you are going to be able to implement some of it into your life.
