The original screenplay of Fantastic Beasts and where to find them is not much different from the movie. (Big surprise, right?)
I am a little bit sad that I had to watch the movie first, because I think I would have enjoyed this book so much more. I’m not saying it was bad, but I missed the opportunity to imagine the scenes for myself. The movie is basically played in the back of my head while I read the book.
I can’t really complain though, because it still gave some more depth to the story by describing and mentioning emotions which, at certain times, the actors were unable to show us. I highly appreciate this, because now I am able to understand the characters much better.
I really love the story of the Fantastic Beasts. This is a new story within the wizarding world and I think it can be entertaining for someone who never got through with the original series. It still holds a lot from the Harry Potter series, but we explore a different time, a different place and different people. We can see how the wizarding world works on an everyday basis, which I actually really missed from the HP books. I was always really curious about how wizards are living when they are not attending school and fighting the evil all the time.
I love Newt, he is amazing! I love that he is an adorable, awkward Hufflepuff guy who has some funny thoughts. Tina is a nice character as well. She just seems like a strong female character and I need that in this universe. Everyone loves Hermione and she is a great character. I am not going to lie, but she doesn’t really have the spice in her. She is just a bookworm. I love the plot line of Jacob, he is amazing. He represents us all with his love for the wizarding world.

The book itself has amazing graphics in it. I love the cover and the little illustrations in it. It’s so good to look at it and it is a joy to take photos of it.
All in all, I liked it a lot. It’s a great new storyline in the universe of the Harry Potter series!
