Automatic Drawing – August Bullet Journal 2022.

This months Bullet Journal is stranger, weird, unnatural and all the other synonyms you can fit next to it. So let’s see!

I thought it would be a good idea to do this thing that I’ve been seeing constantly on Pinterest. (It was almost shoved down on my throat)

This beautiful thing is automatic drawing.

So what is that? According to wikipedia: is a method of art-making in which the artist suppresses conscious control over the making process, allowing the unconscious mind to have great sway.

Like it or not, we gonna have a look at my unconscious mind today. I wanted to try this type of art for a long time now. They say it’s the most relaxing form of art… yep. Even if it’s ugly.

1.Cover

And again. This was my second LIVE on instagram so make sure to check me out there as well if you would like to see my insanely great ideas in real time. (Probably just insane ideas tho)

I layed out the title on the middle than I grabbed a yellow marker (it took me a long time to decide on the color. Sorry live viewers) and started to draw random shapes. After that I took a black pen and started drawing other random shapes. Anything I felt like doing and this is how they turned out.

2.Calendar

I left some space to try this type of art more and I was still not really getting it here. I was trying but there were still parts where I was aiming to make it look as pretty as possible. But the point would be just to draw, without any limitation.

3.Habit tracker

And then I realized that I fell on the other side of the horse. I was aiming to just draw randomly no matter how much I like it or not I just went for it, but it got forced a little. There were some things that I only wanted to draw because I was getting stressed about drawing freely. I thought if it looks good, that means that I’m not letting myself go, but that’s not true! I made limits for myself unconsciously.

4.Fitness

So here I was like. Just go. I don’t care. I was just drawing, pulling lines, outlining and I am satisfied with this one.

5.Instagram and Blog tracker

Music also helped me. It made me relax and it helped to get to my unconscious mind. I guess it’s no surprise since I always listen to music when I’m writing. It helps to reach another self of mine.

My Instagram page changed if you have seen my previous posts about BuJoing. (If you’ve not, check them out!)

I wanted to recreate the one I had in March but in a more simple way. So this is what I came up with. I’m going to track these things separately and it should look good by the end of the month. (Fingers crossed)

6.Reading

I’m so satisfied already with this layout that I didn’t change a bit about it. Only added my subconsciousness’ drawing. I’m really far behind on my reading so I’m not sure the places for books are going to be enough, because I plan to do a 24 hour reading this month.

Thank you for checking out my turn with automatic drawing. I will leave it to you decide if it’s a yay or nay. I’m just happy that I tried it.

How does your Bullet Journal look like this month?
