Colleen Hoover: Verity – Hype Buster Book Review #4

I am investigating the hyped books of bookstagram to tell you if it’s a yay or a nay. Check out the other parts here!

On today’s hype buster we are dealing with Verity!

Guys, I like twisty books. That’s the thing you should know about me. I’m all about smart plot, plot twists and interesting, action scenes or mind twirling story lines.

And this book was not exactly like that, but the end made me stunned, which added a lot of points to the final review for me.

Plot:

I found the plot pretty unique and interesting. It kept me going all the way. The pace was a little rushed, I would have wanted a longer story to be honest, because I felt like there were some required scenes and it would have made the story smoother.

Characters:

Since this book was intense and we had very few pages to get to know all the previous events, the current situation and to go on with the plot, therefore we also had very little time to get to know the characters.

Writing:

This was the first time that I’ve read in English from Colleen, I always read her books in Hungarian, but to be honest, it’s not that different. It’s and easily digestible style that makes me want to continue at all times.

Ending:

Oh my god what an absolute &*^&$@!^#@*&$#&%$!(*

All in all, I did not expect it at all. (Yep. Triple all)

I thought I had know how this will end by chapter 3, but when this come up I was shocked.

I enjoyed the end a lot. I don’t think it was forced or weird, it made me feel like how it should make the reader feel like.

I wouldn’t say this was the best book I’ve ever read, but I’ve been missing stories with some extra spice and this book did it for me.

I would recommend it if you are already a Colleen Hoover fan and you know some of her other stories, but definitely not for first-timers.

So how did you like this one if you read it? Or which was your favorite book from Colleen Hoover? Let me know in the comments!
